TDI recognizes the importance of our JV Teams and their need for a “Final Competition” at the end of each season.  The need to build their performers experiences and setting team year end goals by competing in a “state like” atmosphere is important to many dance and flag team programs in Illinois.

In response to the coaches and programs that build their routines around this philosophy TDI offers the JV "BIG 10" at State.  We invite the TOP 10 shows (8 Dance and 2 Flag) by score to their own “elite” category to compete at TDI STATE FINALS on Sunday, March 2, 2008.  After each regional competition the “JV Scoreboard” is posted on our website that posts the top 10 Shows (NOT posted SCORES) so everyone can keep track.  These will be posted on our website by Wednesday of the week AFTER each competition weekend.  The teams typically change week in and week out until the last weekend (February 16th) when the top 10 shows (and teams) will receive a formal invitation to compete at the TDI STATE CHAMPIONSHIP in Peoria.

FAQ’s
Q: Can a JV team qualify more than one routine?
A: No, each JV team can ultimately qualify only one show.  During the season TDI will post the Top 10 Scoring shows.  If a team qualifies 2 shows, the show that scores the highest is the one that will posted and will qualify.

Q: When will the JV "BIG 10" Teams perform during the State Championship?
A:  The tentative plan is to schedule the JV performances in the afternoon to allow teams to travel on Sunday if needed.

Q: Various categories will be competing like apples vs. oranges?
A: YES…the philosophy being that ONE TEAM will be crowned as JV "BIG 10" Champion in their given “BEST” show.

This will be difficult to achieve…and very competitive.  We believe this will ultimately mimic a true “championship” type atmosphere in this category and is in line with TDI philosophy of competition.
