Mr.TDI is a fundraising opportunity designed to increase participation and involvement of the participant’s family members and to have some plain old fun at the competitions!
The concept is simple, High School Boys, Fathers/Step-Fathers/Father Figures (even Grandfathers!) sign-up at a regional contests to “compete” for Mr. TDI and “dance” to a 43 second clip of music which includes “Macho Man” and “Can’t Touch This.” Votes are cast by the audience and the participant with the most votes will be “crowned” Mr. TDI of that particular contest and will receive a baseball hat bearing the title of “Mr. TDI.”

There are 2 divisions of Mr. TDI:




Teen TDI is designed for High School-College boys.




Mr. TDI is designed for dads, step-dads and granddads.




Group performances are welcomed for both divisions!
All performances will be available through our website. The week before our State Championship, on-line voting will be available for the Mr. TDI winning performances. The participant with the most votes will be “crowned” Mr. TDI 2008
Eligibility
- Teen TDI – High School – College Senior boys (student ID may be requested)
- Mr. TDI - Fathers, Step-Fathers, Male Guardians, Grandfathers, Step-Grandfathers and Great Grandfathers of all participants are eligible to join in on this EXCITING opportunity.
- Contest Host Schools are not eligible to have contestants represent them at their host contest.


Example: At the Batavia Regional Contest, a contestant cannot compete representing 




Batavia, however that contestant may compete for Mr. TDI at the Stevenson Regional

Cost
- Registration = $10 per team

Locations
The following locations will be hosting the Mr. TDI competition:
Registration
- Pre-Registration forms will be available online (click on the school name under location section for the pre-registration form), however the performer must check-in at the registration table by 10:00am the day of the contest or performance spot will not be held.
- Performers will be required to sign a release form before they may participate.
- Registration Fee is due on the day of the contest. All fees are non-refundable.
- Groups will be allowed: Up to 3 performers per group. One (1) person must be designated as the “lead”. The lead performer of each group will receive the winning “award”
- Participants will be given a number to wear during their performance.
- Maximum number of entries will be 16 allowing 8 contestants for Teen TDI and 8 contestants for Mr. TDI. A waiting list will be used if more contestants are interested and will be released 15 minutes before the start time if maximum number of contestants has not been met.
- Mr. TDI hammer will be provided to each contestant at registration to help promote the program in the stands
Performance
Participants will perform before the designated lunch hour. The exact time will be called out on the schedule. Contestants will be given a time to report back to the registration table to line up for competition.
Participants will perform to a 45 second snippet of music determined by TEAMDance Illinois.
The music for the 2007-2008 season will be a mix of “Macho Man” and “Can’t Touch This.
Costuming is allowed (and encouraged!).
We ask that all participants remember when choosing their costume and choreography that the program is a family event and must be kept appropriate for the viewing audience
Performances will be recorded and replayed at the voting booth for voting throughout the day.
All performances will be shown on the TEAMDance Illinois website.

Voting
Voting begins immediately following the final performance. Tickets will be available for purchase and are considered to be the “vote”. There is no limit to the number of votes an individual can cast.
Voting Ticket Prices:
$1 = 1 ticket
$5 = 6 tickets
$10 = 15 tickets
$20 = 30 tickets
The recordings of the performances will be re-played on a television at the voting booth.
Voting will be closed approximately 30 minutes before the end of the contest to enable the votes to be accurately counted and the winner to be determined.
Winners will be announced during the Awards Ceremony.
Awards
- All Participants will receive a Mr. TDI hammer upon registration
- The Teen TDI winner will receive a Mr. TDI Nike Golf Hat. The team they represented will receive $80 Team Donation. This donation will be paid directly to the winning team via check mailed to the winning school within 2 weeks of the end of the contest.
- The Mr. TDI winner will receive a Mr. TDI Nike Golf Hat. The team they represented will receive $80 as a team donation. This donation will be paid directly to the winning team via check mailed to the winning school within 2 weeks of the end of the contest.
- Only the Mr. TDI (Dads) winning Performances will be eligible to move on for the chance to win the Mr. TDI 2008 title
Mr. TDI 2008
All winning performances will be available on www.teamdanceillinois.org the week before the State Championship. Visitors of the site will be able to view these performances and vote for their favorite. The on-line voting for Mr. TDI 2008 is free. Only one vote per computer will be counted.
The performance with the most votes will be crowned Mr. TDI 2008 at the State Championship.
Voting Specifics
All winning performances will be placed www.teamdanceillinois.org as they become available.
Final voting will be open for one (1) week prior to the State Championship. Votes will be tallied electronically. Only one vote per computer will be “counted”.
All on-line votes will be FREE!

Mr. TDI 2008 will be announced during our State Championship weekend.
Award for Mr. TDI 2008
In addition to being crowned Mr. TDI 2008, the winning dad will receive a gift certificate for The Home Depot.
