TDI State Championship
The 08-09 TEAMDance Illinois State Championship will be held on Sunday March 8, 2009 at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. The State Championship is the seasons culminating event that highlights the best varsity dance, drill and pom teams in elite competition.
Teams compete at 27 Dance regional competitions and 7 Flag regional competitions throughout the State of Illinois between November 8 and February 21 to achieve a qualifying bid allowing them to progress to the State Championship.
The Dance Championship consists of six dance competition categories offered in the A, AA, and AAA divisions, which are based on IHSA reported school size.
The Flag Championship consists of the Open Drill, Tall Flag, Short Flag and Lyrical Flag competition categories.
During the State Championship, TDI also incorporates a Junior Varsity "Elite" Championship. This consists of the 8 highest scoring JV routines from the competitive season competing in open competition.
In addition, TDI will host a State Championship Pre-Party on the evening of Saturday March 7, 2009 in Peoria. This party is open to all competing teams. Invitations will be sent to competing teams in February, 2009.
