Competitions
The 2011 Midwest Championship on February 5, 2011 will be a unique competition that offers member teams the opportunity to compete with teams from any state.  In addition, they have the opportunity to receive evaluation and feedback at a TDI Regional Competitions, which are held between November and February, to help them prep for the Midwest Championship and nationals.



General Information information regarding TDC competition:

  • TDC offers a double judging panel at each regional competition and the Midwest Championship.  Team performances will receive oral critiques and scores from two (2) TDC Artistic Judges and two (2) TDC Technical Judges!
  • TDC offers the following categories:  Hip Hop, Open Dance, Open Pom, and Halftime Categories in 3 division sizes
  • The TDC Midwest Championship will be held on Feb. 5th, 2011
  • TDC member teams are also being offered the opportunity to participate at a TDI Regional competition to receive evaluation feedback.

Penalties and Safety Violations

No provocative or lingerie-inspired costumes or garments.
No bra tops.  Material must extend and/or fall at least 1 inch below bra line.
No tube tops—must be secured by straps or material at least over one shoulder.
Skirts must fully cover the hips and completely cover Spankies, briefs or shorts.
Short inseam may be NO LESS than 2” inches.
Waistbands must NOT extend any lower than 2 inches below navel.
Shoes MUST be worn.  No bare feet or socks.
Minimal jewelry IS acceptable in TDC.  These include: Stud earrings x 1 in each lobe (no hoops or multiples), choker necklaces (must
              not flail from chest).
The following jewelry is NOT allowed:  Hard bracelets, necklaces, loose pendants on chokers, rings, thumb rings, belly/tongue/nose
              piercings.

Obvious safety issues regarding costuming is subject to final determination by TDC officials.  When in doubt, it is recommended that TDC be contacted prior to the event.
