Mr. TDI is a free style dance-off competition designed to give male family members and friends a way to show represent and support their favorite dance or flag team.
This season, every participating contest host will have the opportunity offer Mr. TDI in their own unique way.
The concept is simple: High school boys, fathers, grandfathers, brothers, boyfriends, etc between the ages of 9 - 99 sign-up at regional contests to “compete” in a lunch-time dance-off for the title of Mr. TDI. Some sites will only allow crews, some might only allow soloists while others will accept both. Some hosts may provide a prearranged music mix while other will allow groups to provide their own music. ALL music and movement MUST be appropriate for family viewing audiences and all participants must sign a consent and release form prior to performing. Students under age 18 must have parental consent signatures.
Votes are cast in the afternoon of a competition and the participant/crew with the most votes will be "crowned" Mr. TDI - Contest Name. Some hosts will charge for voting as part of a fundraising effort. Other sites may offer "American Idol" styled judge input.
All participants have the opportunity to post their performance on the Mr. TDI website. Simply video tape your performance, upload it to You Tube and send the link of the performance to Mr.TDI@teamdanceillinois.org
The one thing all sites will share in common is that their winning Mr. TDI will have the opportunity to compete for the title of MR. TDI STATE CHAMPION 2010.
All winning performances will be available through the Mr. TDI portion of the website. The week before the TDI State Championship, vote for your favorite regional contest winner by casting free votes online...one per email address. The Mr. TDI Regional winner with the most votes will be "crowned" Mr. TDI 2010! The 2010 Mr. TDI State Champion will receive a prize and a place in history!
