TDI is proud to offer Illinois’ only Dance and Guard/Flag Coach Certification Program. This program is a unique opportunity offered by TDI Academy and is available to any future, current, or retired coaches that are members of the TDI Coaches Association. Through this program, you can become a Certified TDI Dance Coach, Guard/Flag Coach and/or receive a dance specific ASEP Training course.
TDI’s Academy offers a full schedule of coaching courses and opportunities at the annual Fall Conference that lead to completing the TDI certification program.
TDI’s goal in offering and designing this comprehensive program is to elevate the importance of knowledgeable and well-trained coaches! Please read through the new certification system laid out below.
Please Note: You MUST be a member of the TDI Coaches Association in order for course credits to count towards certification.
Basic Certified Coach
This basic level prepares you for competing within TDI.
TDI Intermediate Certified Coach
TDI Intermediate Certified Coaches are coaches that are knowledgeable about TDI, TDI’s judging system and National/State/TDI Rules and Regulations. These are individuals who are either looking for a coaching position or are in their first two years of coaching a team.
TDI Advanced Certified Coach
TDI Advanced Certified Coaches are coaches that are knowledgeable about TDI, TDI’s judging system and National/State/TDI Spirit Rules and Regulations. These are individuals who have a minimum of 2 years of dance, drill, pom, flag team, or guard coaching at the high school or youth level. These years do not have to be consecutive years or as a member of TDI.
TDI Master Coach
TDI Master Coaches are coaches that have an exemplary knowledge of TDI, TDI’s judging system and National/State/TDI Spirit Rules and Regulations as well as a commitment to continued professional development. These are individuals who have a minimum of 4 years of dance, drill, pom, flag team, or guard coaching at the high school or youth level. These years do not have to be consecutive years or as a member of TDI.
